From the mouths of babes!

My three yr. old the other day remarked while on a walk with her sisters--

"The stars come down to my heart."

Not sure what else can be said about that -- it kind of speaks for itself.

Menu for week of July 26- 31

Sunday
Grilled Burgers and Brats
Homemade French Fries
Watermelon
Corn on the Cob
Guacamole-- (we will be eating lots of quac this week as we got 6 of them in our loving hands shopping trip on Thursday)

Monday
Asian Salad - probably with chicken or shrimp
http://jas.familyfun.go.com/recipefinder/display?id=50553
Home canned peaches or fresh fruit
* the salad was good but lacked something. As we made it in addition to what the recipe called for it had napa cabbage instead of the bok choy, chicken, mandarin oranges and some crunchy wonton strips we got at loving hands--next time we'll add more cabbage, some sliced almonds, some green onions, double the dressing recipe and add some garlic to it.. and maybe even some sarachi sauce or some chili garlic paste to make it a bit spicy. Then it would most likely be really good! lol

Tuesday
Sausage and Cauliflower
(This is terrific and super easy! )
Biscuits
cantaloupe

Sausage and Cauliflower
( a family fave from an old dutch cookbook)

1 head cauliflower
1 # bulk breakfast sausage (usually our deer sausage won't need to be drained)
1 onion
1/4 tsp nutmeg

Cut and Steam the cauliflower until it's tender. While that is cooking slice and saute the onion in some olive oil. Remove the onions from the pan and brown the sausage -- once sausage is cooked, add onions back in and nutmeg. Drain and add the cauliflower to the meat mixture. Mix well and serve.
It's simple but delicious!

Wednesday
Lemon shrimp with pasta
Not sure what sides we'll have yet

Thursday
Salmon Patties
Veggies of choice
Potatoes - pan fried or roasted

Friday
Spaghetti and meatballs
Green Salad
French Bread
